There are many options when it comes to gabions for use in residential applications. By providing a variety of different cage sizes and finish options we can provide the building block you need to create a unique and beautiful retaining wall, screen wall, planter, bench, fence, fire pit, or fountain. Gabions provide an excellent design option by allowing you to utilize a variety of natural and synthetic fill options from limestone or granite to recycled brick. concrete, or colored glass rock. Many homeowners find that gabions make a great do it yourself project, but it can be pretty labor intensive. We are happy to help put you together with a contractor in your area that we have worked with in the past or if you have a landscaper or contractor that you would like to use, we are happy to go through the installation process with them, so they are comfortable providing a quote for the work and completing the project.
Gabions are folded flat and shipped on pallets.

Our standard DuraFlex gabions are made in accordance with the industry standard ASTM-A975 and our standard DuraWeld gabions are made in accordance with ASTM-A974 and are Made in the USA. While we have industry standard options, we also have the ability to offer gabions made from custom materials including stainless steel and galfan for specialty applications.

Gabions, from the Italian word for cage, are strong containers filled with inorganic materials like rock, concrete, sand and soil and in certain architectural applications glass rock. These cages are constructed of site specific material including galvanized steel, stainless steel, raw steel, PVC coated steel, and copolymer plastic. They are designed to withstand all kinds of weather and site conditions and are known for their incredible versatility.

Permeable
Gabion walls are known for their permeability. This means that they need less drainage and in some cases no additional drainage behind the face of the wall due to less hydrostatic pressure buildup.
Sustainable
Gabion walls are sustainable because they are filled with minimally processed stone, a natural resource that can be sourced locally. If desired and with the proper maintenance vegetation can grow so the gabion walls can blend into the environment. Moreover, gabion retaining walls have a lower carbon footprint than traditional concrete retaining walls of the same size in terms of CO2 emissions.
