How to improve the service life of large-diameter corrugated culverts

The application scope of large-diameter corrugated culverts in the market is very wide. Everyone hopes that they can be used for a long time during use. The following is a method to improve the life of metal corrugated pipes. First of all, you need to pay attention to the installation situation. Large-diameter corrugated culverts generally need to be installed horizontally or vertically. The most ideal state is to install vertically, so that the effect of use can be guaranteed. If the installation is incorrect, it is very likely that there will be a problem of breakage during use.

The second is the model used. The length must be selected according to the situation on site. If the selected length is not appropriate, some problems may be encountered during use, which will eventually affect the service life. Finally, pay attention to maintenance. Regular cleaning and maintenance must be carried out during use. Only in this way can the problem of corrosion caused by dust on the surface be avoided, and the service life can be greatly improved.

Operation specifications for installation of large-diameter corrugated culverts

1. Work before installation: Check the flatness, level, and elevation of the bottom foundation of the corrugated culvert; check the civil engineering benchmark to determine the culvert position, center axis, and midpoint.

2. Connect and install large-diameter corrugated culverts: According to the actual situation of the culvert, if the water inlets and outlets on both sides of the culvert are inclined with the same slope as the roadbed, install the middle pipe section first during installation, and leave the position of the water inlet and outlet in the length direction of the foundation. After all the middle pipe sections are installed and corrected in place, install the water inlets and outlets on both sides. During installation, discharge the first pipe section from one side so that the center of the corrugated pipe is parallel to the longitudinal center line of the foundation. Similarly, place the second pipe in place. When there is a gap of 3-5cm between the adjacent flanges of the two pipes, use a small crowbar to align the bolt holes on the flanges so that the bolt holes on the two pipe flanges are aligned. At this time, use a crowbar to pry the pipe section from the other end of the second pipe section to make it move longitudinally so that the distance between the two flanges is about 2cm, then put on all the bolts, screw on the screws, and bring flat buckles. After that, connect them one by one in this way. There is no order in the middle pipe section of each culvert, and they can be connected at will.

3. Asbestos pad: Due to the terrain and other reasons, sometimes the distance between two adjacent flanges is small. At this time, use a hammer and chisel to chisel a gap of about 1cm between the two flanges, and use a screwdriver to insert the asbestos pad between the two flanges. Sometimes the distance between the two flanges at the top of the pipe is large, and it is difficult to insert the asbestos pad. Use the binding wire to tie the asbestos pad to the bolts and fix it. Then the workers start to tighten the screws symmetrically. Until there is only a 2-3m gap between the two flanges from the outside.

4. Anti-seepage treatment of the inside and outside of the pipe wall: Apply two layers of emulsified asphalt or hot asphalt on the inside and outside of the pipe wall. From the outside, the inside and outside of the pipe wall are evenly coated with black pipes.

5. Use a jack to calibrate the entire corrugated culvert pipe so that its center is on the specified center line.
